Loft Nine Records and its website are no longer active. This case study is retained as a record of the freelance work and the practical use of an existing design, WordPress, and lightweight integrations.

Connecting an independent record label to its audience

Initial situation
An independent artist needs a website to do several jobs at once. It has to introduce the music, give people a reason to stay, show where the artist is performing, and connect visitors to the channels they already use.
A template could provide the visual shell. It could not provide those connections by itself.
Constraints
This was a small freelance build, not a custom platform with an agency team behind it. The solution needed to start with an existing design, keep the implementation manageable, and concentrate effort on the parts that made the site useful.
That meant accepting a template where it fit and changing it where the business needed something more.
Approach
The thread ran from the music to the live schedule and then out to the audience.
WordPress provided a practical publishing layer. The tour feed kept performance information connected rather than requiring the same schedule to be maintained in several places. Social tools gave visitors a path from the website to the communities where conversations were already happening.
None of those choices was especially exotic. That was the point.
Solution
The template was treated as a starting point instead of a finished product. Its design reduced the amount of visual work required, while the WordPress conversion created a system that could be managed as content changed.
The custom work went into integration and fit: making the design work as a theme, connecting external information, and adjusting imagery so the site felt like one project rather than a template with content poured into it.
Outcomes
No reliable traffic, sales, audience-growth, or publishing-time measurements remain with the project record. This case study therefore describes the work completed without attaching performance claims that cannot be verified.
The website was not the center of the music. It was the point where the different paths met. For a small independent operation, that is often enough: one place that explains the work, keeps the schedule connected, and gives the audience a clear next step.
